Gravel Pit Assessment / Former Unregulated Shooting Area

BEC developed and implemented a work plan to examine the potential presence of hazardous substances at a former unregulated shooting area. The Limited Site Investigation was done in accordance with ITRC guidance Characterization and Remediation of Soils at Closed Small Arms Firing Ranges by collecting samples from the primary impact berm, range floor, lateral berm, and safety fan. Soil samples were analyzed for TPH and heavy metals. Based on the results and site characterizations, BEC identified engineering and administrative controls to promote site closure.
