Small Mammal Inventories for the Desert Conservation Program
BEC Environmental, Inc. has conducted live-trapping inventories of small mammal communities for Clark County Desert Conservation Program throughout the County to support conservation of rare and protected species under the Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan. Inventories were conducted in the Boulder City Conservation Easement to establish baseline information for monitoring long-term changes in the community. Inventories within upland and riparian lands managed by the County along the Virgin and Muddy Rivers allow tracking changes in communities as habitat restoration is implemented. Surveys were conducted to target the Desert Pocket Mouse and will inform and support conservation and management decisions for this rare species.
